Job Description - Ecosystem Facilitator (Governance And Management Architecture) - Part-Time

Asia Community Foundation (ACF) is the first Asia-wide platform for collaborative and strategic giving. ACF enables donors to pool resources, co-create solutions, and drive positive social and environmental impact across the region. Through donor-advised funds, impact  funds, and bespoke giving vehicles, ACF helps philanthropists give with confidence, transparency, and impact.

ACF has recently launched Shared Impact Philanthropy (ShIP), a new regional offering that will make it easier for funders and nonprofits to work together, providing shared systems, hosting, and operational support so partners can focus on what really matters: driving impact across Asia.

This is the work of putting good intention into action. Helping to incubate transformative solutions and turn ideas into results. It’s about building what doesn’t yet exist: new systems, new partnerships, new ways of enabling philanthropy to flourish.

Role Overview (Contract Role)

Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, this Singapore-based position will play a key role in facilitating a climate-focused coordination initiative hosted within ShIP, helping to convene and nurture the regional climate funder ecosystem across Asia in service of community-rooted climate action.

The role will help establish the enabling architecture needed to support regional collaboration, including developing and maintaining governance structures for collective initiatives, facilitating strategic planning and collective decision-making processes, and building operational and portfolio management systems to support effective grant-making, project delivery, and long-term collective impact.

This position is suited to someone who is trusted across boundaries, able to move fluidly between strategic coordination and relationship-building, and experienced in architecting the structures, processes, and partnerships required to translate ideas and collaborative concepts into tangible impact within the Asian context.

Key Responsibilities

1. Governance and Strategic Facilitation

Develop and maintain governance structures, coordination mechanisms, and collective decision-making processes that support effective regional collaboration. Facilitate strategic planning processes across collective initiatives, support alignment among diverse stakeholders, and help translate shared priorities into actionable strategies and collaborative pathways. The role will also strengthen enabling structures that support accountability, continuity, and long-term collective impact across the ecosystem.

2. Management Systems & Operational Delivery

Build and strengthen operational and portfolio management systems that support effective grant-making, project delivery, partner coordination, and programme oversight across a complex regional portfolio. Develop processes and impact frameworks for tracking progress, managing workflows, supporting learning and adaptation, and ensuring initiatives remain responsive, coordinated, and strategically aligned. The role will help establish the operational infrastructure needed to sustain collaborative initiatives and enable effective implementation over time.

3. Portfolio Management (Programmes, Initiatives & Grants)

Lead the development and delivery of a complex and evolving portfolio of grants, projects, and collaborative initiatives across the region. Oversee portfolio coordination, grant and project management, partner engagement, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (M&E) processes to ensure programmes remain adaptive, responsive, and strategically aligned. The role also includes identifying ecosystem gaps where new collective initiatives are needed and supporting the design, resourcing, and incubation of enabling structures to sustain them over time.

4. Strategic Problem-Solving & Innovation

Apply creativity, judgment, and systems thinking to navigate complex challenges and emerging opportunities within a dynamic regional landscape. Lead the incubation of new initiatives, develop enabling structures and collaborative pathways, and design practical responses to evolving ecosystem needs and strategic priorities.

5. Team Development & Organisational Culture

Build and nurture a capable team that models the collaborative principles of the work itself. Develop team members' strategic thinking and cross-cultural competence, foster psychological safety and shared accountability, and ensure the organisation attracts and retains talent aligned to the mission.

Experience / Attributes

  • Sector leader with deep understanding of Asia’s philanthropic, civil society, and development landscape, and over 12 years of demonstrated experience in strategy development, organisational leadership, or programme management within climate, sustainability, or related fields

  • Strong experience in establishing governance structures, operational systems, and management architecture for new organisations, collaborative platforms, or multi-stakeholder initiatives

  • Strong regional networks across the funding, philanthropy, and civil society ecosystem, with experience engaging funders, intermediaries, research institutions, and implementing partners

  • Cross-sector fluency and the ability to translate between the languages, incentives, and decision-making logics of philanthropy, government, civil society, and private sector actors

  • Solid understanding of grant management, programme oversight, due diligence, governance processes, and risk management within complex regional portfolios

  • Strong strategic thinking, facilitation, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and support collective decision-making in dynamic environments

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience in climate philanthropy, environmental sustainability, international development, social sciences, or a related field

  • Proficiency in English required; knowledge of additional Asian languages will be considered an advantage

Interested candidates are invited to send a cover letter and CV.

ACF is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and are an equal opportunity employer, selecting on merit regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, religion, disability, or any other characteristic unrelated to the role.
