Full Stack Developer - Part-Time

Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain scalable full-stack applications using modern software engineering best practices.
2. Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, testing, release, and deployment using GitLab CI/CD or similar DevOps tools.
3. Promote and implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) practices to improve software quality and deployment efficiency.
4. Containerise applications using Docker and manage deployment across development, testing and production environments.
5. Provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Terragrunt, or equivalent technologies.
6. Design, develop and maintain workflows and decision services using GovTech Opus or similar low-code platforms to support business processes and rules automation.
7. Build robust system integrations that orchestrate data between enterprise applications through RESTful APIs, middleware, and external services.
8. Develop secure integrations to ingest applications and documents from intake platforms such as GatherSG and integrate with downstream enterprise systems.
9. Implement resilient integration patterns including retry mechanisms, error handling, logging, and observability to ensure reliable data processing.
10. Develop and maintain frontend and backend components using modern web technologies such as React, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
11. Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, UX designers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
12. Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, code reviews, and performance optimisation to ensure high-quality software delivery.
13. Monitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve system performance, reliability, and security.
14. Prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams, API specifications, and deployment documentation while ensuring compliance with development standards.
15. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives while contributing to knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with at least 7 years of experience in Full Stack Software Development.
2. Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, containerisation, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or Terragrunt.
3. Proficiency in modern web application development using technologies such as React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and enterprise system integration.
4. Experience building secure and reliable API integrations with strong understanding of error handling, retries, idempotency, observability, and distributed system design.
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in Agile environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
