Key responsibilities:
• Conduct literature reviews and background research to support archaeological projects and reports.
• Survey and document archaeological collections for data collection, cataloguing, and collation.
• Assist with artefact documentation, including photography, measurements, condition recording, and database entry.
• Support the preparation of research reports, publications, and presentations.
• Undertake work-related visits to archaeological sites, museums, libraries, laboratories, archives, and partner institutions as required.
• Assist with archaeological fieldwork and post-excavation processing when required.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for research and archaeology-related projects.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of artefacts in accordance with preservation and collections management standards.
Key requirements:
• Degree in archaeology or related field (e.g., history, anthropology, geology, etc.)
• Or relevant experience in post-excavation artefact processing/research (minimally 2 years).
• Knowledge in Singapore archaeology and history will be advantageous.
• Basic knowledge in archaeological ceramics.
• Familiarity with archaeology literature and terminology.
• Basic knowledge in photography and illustration (for artefact documentation).
• Excellent oral and written English.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Words, Excel, etc., basic to intermediate knowledge in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator will be advantageous.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Possesses initiative and attention to detail.
• Good observational and analytical skills
• Punctual and good with time management.
