The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant position with immediate effect in the Department of Biochemistry, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Membrane transporters regulate the transport of nutrients through cell membrane. Our previous work has shown the importance of these transporters for animal physiology (Nature, 2017, JBC 2020, Nat Comms 2021, JCI 2020, Nature 2025). We are currently interested in studying the roles of membrane transporters in the blood-brain barrier to understand the metabolites’ transport between brain and blood. Interested candidates will have opportunities to enroll in a PhD programme in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Main duties and responsibilities
The RA candidate position will lead a research project in which he or she will work with a senior research fellow to study the physiological impacts of transporters to cells/animals physiology. Deep knowledge in neuroscience and vascular system is a plus. The applicant is expected to:
The applicant should hold at least a bachelor or Master degree for RO in life sciences/biomedical research areas from prestigious universities such as NTU, NUS. Preferred experience should include the follows but not limited to:
