Research Assistant - Part-Time

Job Requirements

We are seeking talented a Research Assistant at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) with expertise in the following areas

• quantum error correction
• quantum noise characterization
• quantum control

Candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following topics:

Quantum error correction: Experience in QEC theory, design, simulation, and analysis of quantum error-correcting, and efficient decoding methods.

Quantum noise characterization: Experience with quantum characterization, verification, and validation (QCVV) techniques, including gate set tomography, randomized benchmarking, and related protocols. Experience in correlated and non-Markovian noise, multi-time quantum processes, and process tensor methods.

Quantum control: Experience with optimal control in the presence of complex noise environments and quantum error-mitigation protocols would be useful.

Hands-on experience with quantum hardware, implementing noise characterization, control, or error-correction protocols on experimental quantum platforms is highly desirable.

The candidate should have

• A degree in open quantum systems, quantum information theory, or similar
• Able to do literature review and summarize the main findings from the literature
• Competence in disseminating the outcomes of the research including in peer-reviewed academic publications of international standing
• Perform other tasks as required by the Principal Investigator
• Ability to support the research team
