Resident Technical Officer (Arch) - Part-Time

1. Carry out site supervision and inspection of the works including any off-site manufacturing as instructed by the Other Consultants so as to ensure that works are constructed to required quality and accuracy; in accordance to the Other Consultants’ Specifications.

2. Monitor progress of the works on site and at any off-site manufacturing facilities and report delays immediately.

3. Ensure that all submissions by the Contractor are in proper order.

4. Provide standing supervision as and when directed by the Other Consultants, SRA or RA.

5. Assist with the inspection of pre-cast elements at the casting yard, if applicable.

6. Maintain proper and updated daily records of all works done, including records of tests, inspections, status of work, safety, site diary, material and equipment on site, labour, dayworks, provisional quantities, etc.

7. Co-ordinate with the Contractor’s Safety Officer to ensure that site safety is properly executed by the Contractor at all times.

8. Safeguard and keep proper record of all approved samples submitted.

9. Check and ensure that the Contractor executes Preliminaries items.

10. Check service routes and Contractor’s setting out of works. Any deviations / discrepancies to be highlighted to the SRAs / RAs and Other Consultants immediately.

11. Verify reports and claims submitted by Contractor and ensure proper documentation of project correspondences on site.

12. Inspect works carried out at critical stages leading to their completion and the completed works.

13. Inspect the various tests to be carried out on site (e.g. window spray tests/ ponding tests etc)

14. Conduct and record defects inspections and ensure proper execution of rectification works.

15. Undertake any other duties related to the project as and when instructed by the Other Consultants and SRAs / RAs.

16. Attend daily toolbox meetings, and Contractor’s technical and progress meetings when required by the RE.

17. Assist the Resident Architects in carrying out all duties.

18. Inspect the Contractor’s works, to include material storage, sequence of works and protection to finished works.

19. Endorse inspection forms and ensure proper, record and filing.

20. Monitor progress of works and highlight any delay in advance.

21. Standing supervision of structural works.

22. Co-ordination of structural, architectural and interior works.

23. Ensure cleaning up of site for inspection through the Contractor.
