Senior / Lead Mechanical Inspector - Part-Time

For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior / Lead Mechanical Inspector to serve as a Client Representative in this role.

The Role: Client Representative — Senior / Lead Mechanical Inspector Inspection

As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Construction Manager. Your mission is to ensure all mechanical fabrication, installation, and testing work meets specification and Class requirements, protecting quality without compromising the construction schedule.

• Lead and supervise the Mechanical Inspector(s), reviewing their inspection findings and daily reports.
• Review complex mechanical inspection and test packages, RAMS, and equipment certifications (API, ASME).
• Drive resolution of mechanical non-conformances, coordinating with the Engineering Manager's mechanical team where technical disputes arise.
• Witness major equipment testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), verifying compliance with approved specifications.
• Report inspection status, quality risks, and punch-list progress to the Construction Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of mechanical inspection experience in offshore/marine fabrication, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/lead inspection role.
• Strong working knowledge of API/ASME standards and Classification Society inspection requirements.
• Experience with jack-up rig construction, newbuild, or reactivation projects in a Singapore shipyard is highly advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and clear, factual reporting skills.
