Job Description:
Assist with Instruction: Provide assistance to the early intervention teacher during lessons, helping to implement educational plans and strategies tailored to each child's individual needs.
Support Individualized Learning: Work one-on-one or in small groups with children to reinforce lessons, support skill development, and encourage participation in activities as instructed by the teacher.
Provide Personal Care: Assist with personal care tasks such as feeding, toileting, and hygiene, ensuring the comfort and well-being of the children.
Promote Social Interaction: Facilitate social interactions between children, encouraging communication and cooperation in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Create Learning Materials: Assist in preparing and organizing educational materials, resources, and activities that are appropriate for the developmental levels and needs of the children.
Manage Behavior: Employ positive behavior management techniques to create a calm and structured environment, helping children to develop appropriate social and behavioral skills.
Provide Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and encouragement to children, helping them build self-confidence and self-esteem.
Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, special education professionals, and other team members to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to children's development and learning.
Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure the physical safety of children by following safety protocols and guidelines, both indoors and outdoors.
Requirement
Minimum Diploma
Prior experience working with young children, especially those with special needs or developmental delays, is preferred.
Experience volunteering or working in educational settings, preschools, day care centers, or special education programs can be beneficial.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, teachers, and other team members.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive environment for children.
Adaptability and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of children with varying abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, including teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
Basic understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
