Trainer- Cum- Counsellor (Burmese Speaking) - Part-Time

Responsibilities:

• Counsel primarily Myanmar Migrant Domestic Workers to understand the role of the job with the goal of the workers to be able to complete the tasks and objectives of the work, and educate on the stress and coping mechanism related to working as a Migrant Domestic Worker;
• Interview or speak to, translate (where necessary), provide a listening ear, and understand the needs and challenges of the Myanmar Migrant Domestic Worker;
• Help Migrant Domestic Workers to overcome and manage different mental, emotional, and job related challenges;
• Coordinate and work with the managing agents of the boarding house to ensure that Migrant Domestic Workers living at the boarding house have the necessary basic needs provided;
• Provide basic training including stress coping mechanisms for Myanmar Foreign Domestic Workers; and
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

• Ability to communicate in Burmese Language to aid the Myanmar Migrant Domestic Workers to better understand the expectations of the role and/or to listen and advise them on the challenges and grievance they may have.
• Bilingual in both English and Burmese language.
• Work Hours: Mondays to Fridays, 9:00am to 6:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am to 1.00pm
• Part-time work will be considered too.
