Job Description - Intern - New Business Development - Part-Time

Growthful Ventures is a Singapore-based AI transformation firm helping SMBs and mid-market companies build and deploy AI-powered workflows across sales, marketing, and customer operations. One of our flagship products is Jenny, a WhatsApp AI receptionist built for salons, gyms, and clinics and any service business — handling bookings, FAQs, and customer queries 24/7, with live calendar integration and seamless human handoff.

We're a small, fast-moving team and this role will work directly with the founder to take Jenny to market in Singapore.

The Role

You'll be the front line for getting Jenny in front of real businesses. This isn't a "shadow and observe" internship — you'll be building your own pipeline and speaking to prospective customers , with guidance and coaching as you go.

What you'll do:

  • Build pipeline: Identify and list out target businesses (salons, gyms, clinics, and adjacent service businesses) across Singapore using maps, directories, and other sourcing methods
  • Learn to qualify sectors: Work with the founder to understand which sub-sectors and business types are the best fit for Jenny, and refine targeting criteria as you go
  • Cold outreach: Reach out to prospects via cold calling and messaging (WhatsApp, Instagram DM, email) to introduce Jenny and book demos
  • In-person meetings: Visit business owners on-site to demo Jenny, answer questions, and move them toward a trial or sign-up
  • Track everything: Keep pipeline data, call notes, and outcomes organized so we can see what's working and improve the approach
  • Iterate on messaging: Help test and refine outreach scripts, demo flow, and objection handling based on real conversations

The role has a commission based plan where the right intern has the opportunity to earn more than the monthly stipend based on sales performance.

What you'll learn

  • How to build and run a B2B sales pipeline from scratch
  • Sector research and ICP (ideal customer profile) development
  • Cold calling and in-person sales technique for SMB/local business audiences
  • How an early-stage AI product goes from pitch to paying customer
  • Direct mentorship from senior team members and founder

Who we're looking for

  • Singapore-based, available for in-person meetings around the island
  • Comfortable picking up the phone and knocking on doors — this role is outbound-heavy
  • Good spoken and written English; mandarin a plus for talking to a range of business owners
  • Organized : you'll be tracking your own pipeline and need to follow up consistently
  • Curious about AI and SMB tech, even without prior sales experience
  • Resilient : cold outreach means a lot of "no" before you get to "yes," and we want someone who can stay motivated through that

What matters most is hustle, curiosity, and follow-through.
