Job Description - AEM Technical Lead - Part-Time

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced AEM Technical Lead to lead the design, development, deployment, and support of enterprise digital platforms built on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). This role will provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing digital solutions that align with business objectives.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in AEM development, deployment, cloud technologies, system integration, and enterprise content management.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review solution architecture and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and business stakeholders to define technical approaches and implementation strategies.

AEM Development

  • Design and develop reusable AEM components, templates, workflows, dialogs, and services.
  • Develop custom features using Java, Sling Models, OSGi, HTL (Sightly), and JCR.
  • Configure and customize AEM Sites, Assets, and Content Fragments.
  • Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to development standards.

Deployment & DevOps

  • Lead deployment planning and release activities across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
  • Manage AEM package deployments using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support deployment automation using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Adobe Cloud Manager.
  • Perform deployment validation, rollback planning, and post-release verification.
  • Coordinate release activities with infrastructure, security, and application teams.

Integration

  • Develop and maintain integrations between AEM and enterprise applications using REST APIs and web services.
  • Integrate AEM with Adobe Experience Cloud products and third-party platforms where required.
  • Support authentication, authorization, and enterprise security implementations.
  • Ensure reliable and secure data exchange across integrated systems.

Performance & Support

  • Monitor application health and optimize AEM performance.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and platform enhancements.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and performance tuning strategies.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with business users, UX teams, architects, QA teams, and project managers.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical design reviews, and sprint planning.
  • Prepare technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and technical support to internal teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) development.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading technical teams or enterprise AEM projects.
  • Strong experience with AEM 6.x or AEM as a Cloud Service.
  • Proficiency in Java, OSGi, Sling Models, HTL (Sightly), JCR, and Maven.
  • Experience developing AEM Components, Templates, Workflows, and Content Fragments.
  • Experience with Adobe Cloud Manager and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, XML, and enterprise system integration.
  • Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
  • Experience with Apache Dispatcher, caching strategies, and CDN configuration.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of security, performance tuning, and enterprise application architecture.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
