AI / Automation Engineer - Part-Time

Job Responsibilities

• Involve in technical planning, implementation and delivery for enhancement projects
• Develop and review test cases for the service
• Perform system and service testing to roll-out new related products and services.
• Responsible for supporting the daily operation of servers (HW & SW mainly in Linux OS) and storage systems.
• System and Platform Patch loading, implementation of software and hardware upgrades
• Perform and coordinate disaster recovery activity expeditiously in times of service disruptions so as to minimize service downtime and revenue loss.
• Develop playbook and scripts to automate processes to improve operational efficiency
• May need to work outside normal working hours to carry out upgrades and patch loading as such activities may disrupt services.

Qualifications & Requirements

• A good engineering or computing degree
• Basic knowledge on Linux Operating System
• Basic knowledge on IP networking fundamentals
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills.

• Strong Proficiency in at least one strongly typed language like Java and scripting languages like python, Ruby Working knowledge and expertise in configuration management tools such as Chef/Puppet build systems such as Hudson/Jenkins will be huge plus
• Create performance specifications and key indicators
• Develop a next generation build, test and release pipeline & dependency management application
• Develop plugins and extensions to Gradle, Jenkins, Artifactory, and other systems
• Work with teams to solve build and dependency management challenges
• Evangelize best-practices in software development, test automation and continuous deployment processes
• Work with the development, quality, and operations teams to support the day-to-day activities necessary to create and maintain continuous integration build pipelines
• Work with the development, quality, and operations engineers to establish continuous deployment plans
• Evaluate new tools and infrastructures to improve efficiency of the release engineering pipelines
• Enhance and maintain the common build infrastructure, including the Jenkins build system, which support all team projects
• Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and maintain Cloud security guidelines, standards and best practices within the Cloud architecture within Global Breeding;
• Collaborate with product development, architecture, and IT teams on evaluation and implementation of new services based on the requirements;
• Monitor environments for security vulnerabilities and independently take action to remediate and/or mitigate risks;

• Deploy and support framework and tools for Multi-Cloud Platform;
• Promote Cloud usage best practices across multiple organizations;
• Able to work in both Linux- and Windows- based environments and associated code frameworks;
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a secure and scalable cloud (AWS) infrastructure platform;
• Manage account administration on complex Multi-Cloud platform;
• Participate in an on-call rotations to provide coverage during off business hours;
• Lead development teams and guides development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of highly secured cloud infrastructure;
• You’ll provide timely and appropriate communication to business owners, stakeholders, and users on issue status and resolution;
• You will troubleshoot production issues, engage appropriate parties, and drive through to resolution;
• You’ll get to collaborate with teams across the company to improve the overall operational maturity of Cloud and on-premise solutions;
• You will have the opportunity to continually improve operational processes and procedures.

Requirements:

• Ability to design and implement robust and maintainable utilities;
• Scripting/automation development skills;
• Enthusiasm for collaborative, iterative development, high quality, and robust systems;
• Experience managing operational monitoring, metrics, and logging systems;
• Experience designing, implementing and operating build & release automation and continuous integration and deployment;
