Role: Architecture Engineer (Operations Services) [P3 Grade]

Location: Novena

Type of Role: Contract (12 months renewable)

Remuneration: Base Salary - $8,500

Renumeration: 1 month bonus upon completion of 12 months' contract (subjected to attendance, performance etc..)

Role Overview:

The Architecture Engineer will design, implement, manage and maintain secure infrastructure solutions compliant with Government IM8 and CIS standards, ensuring alignment with customer architecture principles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Architecture & Implementation

• Design and optimize operating system architectures (Solaris Zones/LDOMs, Windows AD forests, RHEL STIG hardening)
• Design and deploy network architectures (routing, switching, SD-WAN) compliant with IM8/CIS.
• Architect and manage firewall solutions (Palo Alto/Check Point) for zero-trust environments.
• Implement virtualization/storage architectures (VMware/Dell EMC) with HA/DR considerations.
• Develop automation frameworks for configuration management.

2. Database Architecture Support

• Optimize Oracle/MSSQL database architectures for performance and security.

3. Compliance & Governance

• Enforce architectural compliance with IM8/CIS standards.
• Document architecture decisions and patterns for accreditation.

4. Automation & Optimization

• Build infrastructure-as-code solutions.
• Conduct architecture performance tuning.

Required Skills & Experience:

Technical Expertise:

Networking Architecture

• Design experience with standard architecture.
• SD-WAN implementation.

Security Architecture

• Firewall policy architecture (Palo Alto/Check Point)
• Zero-trust network design.

Systems Architecture

• VMware vSphere architectural design.
• Windows/Linux hardening architectures.

Automation Architecture

• Ansible playbook architecture.
• Infrastructure-as-code principles.

Required Certifications:

Architecture Certifications

• TOGAF 9+ Certified
• AWS/Azure Solutions Architect Professional
• Google Cloud Professional Architect
• Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
• CCNP or equivalent.
• PCNSE (Palo Alto) or CCSM (Check Point)

Nice-to-Have

Advanced Architecture Certifications

• CISSP-ISSAP (Security Architecture)
• VMware Certified Advanced Professional
• Automation: Ansible Automation Platform Certification, Terraform Associate.
• Government Architecture: COMIT certification, ITIL Master (Architecture Strategy)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5 plus years of hands-on experience implement, manage and maintain secure infrastructure solutions .
