Azure Cloud Architect (WFH) - 4 Months Contract - Part-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to design, deploy, and support the migration of enterprise applications onto Azure GCC Cloud v2.0. The role covers full life cycle delivery across Development (DEV), System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Production (PROD) environments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a secure, scalable, and compliant cloud architecture aligned with GCC standards and customer enterprise architecture guidelines, while working closely with application teams and customer architects.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture& Design

• Design and produce detailed architecture and design documentation based on high-level solution designs for application deployment on Azure GCC v2.0.
• Work with customer architecture teams to obtain design approvals and ensure alignment with landing zone standards.
• Collaborate with application teams to define IP schema, DNS configuration, and SSL certificate requirements.
• Design cloud solutions incorporating Azure services including:
• Microsoft Azure Key Vault
• Microsoft Entra ID
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
• Azure Application Gateway with Web Application Firewall (WAF)
• Azure API Management
• Azure Monitor
• Azure Files

Environment Design(Landing Zone & DEV Setup)

• Design and deploy a dedicated Development environment using Azure Landing Zones.
• Configure Azure Firewall, WAF, and up to 10 Azure Virtual Machines in a single availability zone.
• Ensure DEV environment readiness within the first month to support application onboarding and development activities.

Build & Deployment(DEV / SIT / UAT / PROD)

• Deploy Azure Virtual Machines using approved GCC OS images:
• Production: 16 VMs
• SIT: 16 VMs
• UAT: 12 VMs
• Support installation and configuration of SQL Database on designated database VMs.
• Assist application teams with Azure File Sync and Azure Data Migration Service (DMS) for file and database migration.
• Install monitoring/endpoint agents on all VMs and configure centralized log forwarding in compliance with GCC logging standards.
• Ensure SIT environment is operational by Month 2, followed by UAT and Production rollout in subsequent phases.
• Configure and validate:
• Azure Monitor
• Log Analytics workspaces
• Backup and recovery policies
• Alerting and service dependencies

Post-Deployment Support& Stabilization

• Provide technical support during environment build, application migration, and production stabilization phases.
• Deliver limited post-deployment support focused on newly built Azure cloud environments under the scope of work.
• Ensure smooth handover and operational readiness of deployed environments.

Documentation &Governance

• Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, detailed design documents, and operational runbooks.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with GCC standards and customer governance frameworks.
• Support architecture review and approval processes with stakeholders.

Deliverables

• Approved Detailed Design Document (DDD)
• Azure Landing Zone and DEV environment setup
• Fully deployed SIT, UAT, and PROD environments on customer Azure landing zone
• Configured monitoring, logging, backup, and alerting frameworks
• Complete architecture diagrams and technical documentation

Engagement Duration

• Base duration: 4 months
• Optional extension: 1 additional month (limited post-deployment support)

Required Skills &Experience

• Strong experience in cloud architecture and enterprise application deployment on Microsoft Azure
• Hands-on experience with Azure Landing Zones and multi-environment (DEV/SIT/UAT/PROD) deployments
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security architecture, and identity management
• Experience with Azure monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and infrastructure deployment automation (preferred)
• Strong understanding of enterprise security standards, governance, and compliance requirements
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and customer architects in a structured delivery environment
