Backend Engineer (Full Stack, Django/Python) - Part-Time

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to enhance and maintain the backend services and Admin Dashboard to support new features, system integrations, testing, and security compliance requirements as part of ongoing platform enhancements and HCC migration readiness.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and web applications using the Django framework.
• Implement application enhancements to support system integration, security, and scalability requirements.
• Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices, including code organisation, version control, testing, and documentation.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards, design principles, and architectural guidelines.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues with minimal impact to delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps and other engineers to optimise system performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant working experience with demonstrated project delivery capability.
• Strong proficiency in Django, including ORM, authentication, and RESTful API development.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and database optimisation.
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
