Cloud Engineer - Part-Time

Our client is looking for a Cloud Engineer to support the deployment, management and security of cloud infrastructure in a secure and regulated environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in cloud platforms, infrastructure automation and cloud security.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision, configure and maintain cloud infrastructure.
• Manage cloud services and ensure system availability, performance and security.
• Implement and maintain cloud security controls in accordance with organisational policies and compliance requirements.
• Support infrastructure automation using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.
• Perform cloud infrastructure hardening and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support cloud operations and project delivery.
• Maintain technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Cloud Computing, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (e.g. EC2, VPC, IAM, Systems Manager).
• Good understanding of cloud networking, security and governance, preferably within a regulated or government cloud environment.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and version control tools such as Git.
• Good troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator or equivalent cloud certification.
• Experience working in government or highly regulated cloud environments.
• Experience remediating infrastructure vulnerabilities, implementing security hardening and applying CIS benchmark recommendations.
• Familiarity with Agile or sprint-based project delivery methodologies.
