Cloud Platform Engineer - Contract - Part-Time

Role Overview

The Cloud Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate the cloud foundation for a Smart City initiative that integrates OT, IoT, analytics, AI, and application workloads. The role focuses on end-to-end platform engineering, including landing zone design, infrastructure-as-code provisioning, CI/CD implementation, cloud security, data platform setup, and production operations.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Terraform, cloud platform services, CI/CD pipeline ownership, IAM/RBAC, secrets management, Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational runbooks. The candidate will work closely with software, data, and OT integration engineers to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable delivery across the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Provisioning cloud environments using Terraform

• Managing cloud-native services

• Implementing secure access controls

• Designing network segmentation

• Enabling OT/IoT telemetry ingestion

• Supporting database and storage services

• Building observability capabilities

• Automating operational tasks

• Enforcing governance through policy-as-code

Qualifications

• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code — hands-on production experience with modules, state management, and automated provisioning.

• Cloud Platform Engineering — strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud services in production environments.

• DevSecOps / CI/CD — experience building and owning CI/CD pipelines with embedded security checks and automated validation.

• 3–8 years in cloud platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles, with clear ownership of production environments.

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Demonstrable portfolio: IaC repositories, pipeline configurations, architecture diagrams, or reference environments welcomed.

• Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, CKA, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, or equivalent) are a plus but do not substitute for hands-on delivery evidence.

Good to Have / Optional Skills

• OT/IoT telemetry platform experience or real-time data ingestion from field devices.

• Singapore government cloud familiarity such as GCC 2.0, IM8, or equivalent compliance frameworks.

• Smart City, critical infrastructure, or industrial platform deployment exposure.

• Data platform and analytics experience including data lakes, streaming pipelines, or BI infrastructure.

• Policy-as-code experience using OPA, Sentinel, or similar frameworks.
