Data Engineer - Part-Time

Looking for a Data Engineer / BI Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of data platforms and analytics solutions. You will work with cross-functional teams to build data pipelines, create dashboards, troubleshoot technical issues, and support cloud-based data products.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of data platforms, including job monitoring, error handling, testing, and recovery.
• Build, maintain, and optimise data pipelines and data integration processes.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau or Amazon QuickSight.
• Write SQL and Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues such as connectivity, API, and service failures.
• Document technical solutions, data pipelines, and system changes.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and product teams to support cloud-based data solutions.
• Implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and unit testing.
• Monitor system performance, usage, and security events.
• Ensure data pipelines comply with data governance standards, policies, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or IT Infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience developing dashboards using Tableau or Amazon QuickSight.
• Good understanding of dashboard design and user experience (portfolio or sample work is an advantage).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience in server, database, or network administration.
• Experience administering Tableau Server, Talend, Microsoft SQL Server, or SAS Viya.
• Proficiency in PowerShell.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with SHIP-HATS or similar DevOps platforms is an advantage.
