Design Lead - Part-Time

 Job Description

·      We're looking for an experienced Design Lead to establish and scale Human-Centred Design within a multidisciplinary product team. 

·      You'll work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Business Stakeholders, and Users to drive Product Discovery, UX Strategy, Service Design, and Digital Innovation, delivering intuitive, accessible, and impactful digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities:: 

·      Design Leadership 

o   Lead and establish Human-Centred Design practices, frameworks, and standards.

o   Partner with Product and Engineering teams to shape product strategy and delivery. 

o   Build scalable Design Systems and promote a strong design culture. 

·      User Research & Discovery 

o   Conduct User Interviews, Usability Testing, Workshops, and Field Research. 

o   Apply Qualitative & Quantitative Research to uncover user needs and validate product ideas. 

o   Transform research into actionable insights and product recommendations.

·       UX, Service & Product Design 

o   Create Journey Maps, Service Blueprints, Wireframes, Prototypes, and High-Fidelity Designs. 

o   Apply Service Design and Systems Thinking to improve end-to-end user experiences. 

o   Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation. 

·      Strategy & Innovation 

o   Drive Product Discovery using research, analytics, and experimentation. 

o   Explore AI-enabled Design and modern digital technologies to enhance user experiences. 

o   Balance User Needs, Business Goals, and Technical Feasibility. 🤝

·      Stakeholder Management 

o   Facilitate workshops and collaborate with Business Leaders, Product Managers, and Engineering Teams. 

o   Influence decisions through research, evidence, and storytelling. 

o   Champion Product-Led and User-Centric ways of working. 

·      Design Excellence 

o    Establish Accessibility, Usability, and Inclusive Design standards. 

o   Mentor designers and contribute to building a strong design capability. 

o   Promote continuous learning, innovation, and best practices. 

Required Skills & Qualifications:: 

·      8+ years of experience in UX Design, Product Design, Service Design, or Human-Centred Design. 

·      Strong expertise in User Research, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, and Design Thinking. 

·      Experience leading End-to-End Product Design and Product Discovery. 

·      Hands-on experience with Wireframing, Prototyping, Journey Mapping, and Design Systems. 

·      Strong understanding of Accessibility, Usability, and Inclusive Design. 

·      Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and Agile Teams. 

·      Excellent Stakeholder Management, Workshop Facilitation, Communication, and Storytelling skills. 

·      Experience building or scaling Design Practices. 

·      Knowledge of AI-assisted Design, Systems Thinking, and Digital Transformation. 

·      Experience in Government, Public Sector, or Regulated Industries. 

·      Experience mentoring designers and developing design maturity. 

·      Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Service Design, Design Research, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.
