Consultant(Epic Cogito)

Role and Responsibilities

1.      Meeting with report requesters (SMEs)to understand their data needs.

2.       Identifying and reviewing the appropriatetechnological solutions for various reporting needs.

3.       Creating reports, using a third-party reportwriting tool such as Crystal reports, to display Clarity data.

4.       Writing SQL for custom SQL metrics.

5.       Modifying existing reports, as necessary.

6.        DistributingClarity reports to report consumers using Epic-Crystal integration.

7.       Reviewing peer reports for validity.

8.       Testing report build in a specified testingenvironment and volume testing in live environments.

9.       Reviewing upgrade documentation related to Clarityfeatures and released Crystal reporting content and determining how toimplement the changes.

10.  BIDs might also be responsible for building:

-         Dashboards - Batch Extracts todownstream systems

-         Epic reportingtools (SlicerDicer, RWB, Cogito SQL etc.)

-         Third-party tools (QlikView/Tableauetc.)

Qualifications

Requirements

-         A degree in engineering, physics,computer sciences, math, information systems, or statistics.

-         Proficiency in SQL with hands-onexperience and relational database concepts.

-         Strong communication skills.

-         Critical thinking and an analyticalmind.

-         Technically proficient in your analyticaldatabase platforms.

-         Working knowledge of the databaseoperating systems.

-         Familiarity with Epic applicationsand database structure, through training that occurs early in theimplementation.

-          Ability to gain an in-depth understanding ofthe data model through data model classes geared toward content areas.

-         Ability to understand data structuresthat could benefit the entire reporting environment
