Job Description - FIX Client Onboarding, Senior - Part-Time

Key responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Serve as the senior technical consultant for FIX Protocol connectivity (FIX 4.2 / 4.4), electronic trading platforms, and messaging infrastructure.
  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 production support for trading applications, ensuring maximum system availability and minimal downtime.
  • Lead the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of production incidents, connectivity issues, and client-reported problems within defined service levels.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), recommend permanent fixes, and drive continuous service improvements to enhance platform stability.
  • Collaborate with clients, trading desks, business stakeholders, vendors, and internal engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Manage end-to-end client onboarding, FIX certification, connectivity testing, session configuration, and production readiness.
  • Monitor application health, trading connectivity, and system performance using logs and monitoring tools to proactively identify operational risks.
  • Perform Unix/Linux system administration, diagnostics, scripting, and operational support across production environments.
  • Participate in system implementations, infrastructure upgrades, production deployments, and release management while ensuring minimal business disruption.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, knowledge articles, and support runbooks.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior consultants, and contribute to best practices for support processes and operational governance.
  • Work effectively under tight project timelines and within high-pressure production environments supporting global financial markets.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5–10+ years of experience supporting electronic trading systems, FIX connectivity, or capital markets applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of FIX Protocol 4.2 and 4.4, including session management, order lifecycle, and message flows.
  • Solid experience supporting mission-critical production environments within financial services or capital markets.
  • Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, shell scripting, log analysis, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience with client onboarding, FIX certification, connectivity testing, and production implementation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management with proven experience engaging clients, business users, vendors, and technology teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
