Lead Data Scientist - Part-Time

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy machine learning models, optimization algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions for complex operational challenges.
• Work with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets from IoT sensors, process systems, logistics platforms, and equipment telemetry.
• Translate business needs into data science projects, from exploration to implementation.
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate models into decision-making systems and operational workflows.
• Apply algorithmic thinking to address use cases such as dynamic scheduling, anomaly detection, resource allocation, and forecasting.
• Present insights and recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.

Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. PhD is a plus.
• 5+ years of practical experience in data science, ideally within industrial, manufacturing, or logistics-focused domains.
• Strong grasp of algorithms, statistics, and machine learning (regression, classification, clustering, time series, reinforcement learning, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python and key ML/data libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost).
• Experience deploying ML solutions to production (APIs, containers, CI/CD workflows, cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
• Bonus: Experience with optimization techniques (e.g., linear programming, heuristics), geospatial data, or real-time analytics platforms.
