Network Engineer L2 - Part-Time

Role Summary

The Network Engineer (L2) provides advanced technical support for network infrastructure and UPS systems. The role is responsible for incident resolution, root cause analysis, preventive maintenance, network changes, and ensuring service stability across the managed environment.

Key Responsibilities

Incident Resolution & Technical Support

• Provide second-level support for complex network incidents and service disruptions.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, load balancers, IPS/IDS/NAC platforms, and UPS systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure incident resolution within agreed SLA commitments.

Network Configuration & Change Management

• Implement approved network configurations and changes.
• Review change requests and assess implementation risks.
• Support network upgrades, patching activities, and infrastructure enhancements.
• Maintain configuration backups and documentation.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
• Perform corrective maintenance to restore service availability.
• Review infrastructure health and recommend proactive improvements.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare technical reports, incident analyses, and maintenance reports.
• Contribute to monthly SLA, performance, and incident reporting.
• Maintain network diagrams, SOPs, and operational documentation.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, STP, VLANs).
• Experience managing firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and network security solutions.
• Experience with incident management and change management processes.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, NSE, PCNSE, or equivalent.
• Experience in managed services or large enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
