Network Engineer - Part-Time

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise network infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity across the organisation’s IT environment.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong technical knowledge in networking technologies, cybersecurity practices, and infrastructure operations who are passionate about delivering stable and secure network services.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design C Implementation

·      Implement and support LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud networking solutions

·      Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and related network devices

·      Implement network segmentation including VLANs, subnets, and VPN solutions

·      Support SD-WAN and hybrid cloud networking deployments where applicable

·      Develop and maintain networkarchitecture diagrams andtechnical documentationNetwork Operations C Maintenance

·      Monitor network performance, availability, and utilisation

·      Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and patch management

·      Manage IP addressing services including DHCP, DNS, and IPAM

·      Ensure redundancy and failover mechanisms are operational

·      Maintain backup configurations and recovery procedures Security C Compliance

·      Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network access controls

·      Implement secureremote access solutions including VPN and Zero Trustaccess models

·      Conduct vulnerability assessments andsupport remediation activities

·      Ensure compliance with organisational security policies and regulatory requirements

·      Monitor security logs and investigate network-related security incidents TroubleshootingC Support

·      Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and performance issues

·      Provide support for network-related incidents and service requests

·      Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend preventive improvements

·      Collaborate withinfrastructure, application, and cybersecurity teams Network Optimisation

·      Analyse network performance metrics and recommend improvements

·      Optimise bandwidth usage and Ǫuality of Service (ǪoS) policies

·      Support network upgrades, expansion projects, and capacity planning

·      Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Documentation CReporting

·      Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, inventories, and operational documentation

·      Document configurations, procedures, and implemented changes

·      Prepare periodic performance, incident, and compliance reports

·      Update operational runbooks and knowledge basearticles Requirements

Education C Certifications

·      Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or related field

·      Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, NSE, or equivalent will be advantageous

Technical SkillsC Experience

·      Minimum 2–5 years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure support

·      Hands-on experience with networking technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN, and VLANs

·      Experience withenterprise network and security devicessuch as Cisco,Palo Alto, Check Point, or equivalent

·      Familiarity withnetwork monitoring and management toolssuch as SolarWinds or eG Enterprise

·      Knowledge of firewall administration, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and cybersecurity best practices

·      Exposure to cloud andvirtualisation platforms such as VMwareand Nutanix is anadvantage

·      Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Soft Skills
