ROLE OVERVIEW
As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for applying quality processes, automation tools, and methodologies to strengthen testing products and solutions.
You will run the end-to-end quality engineering function with a focus on automation to improve control, accuracy, and integrity. As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with and guide the team to perform effectively, take responsibility for team decisions, engage with multiple stakeholders, and contribute to key decisions.
Providing solutions to problems for your immediate team, and across multiple teams, is a vital part of this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Run the end-to-end quality engineering function, using quality processes, automation tools, and methodologies to transform testing products and solutions.
• Develop and implement automated testing strategies to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to improve testing processes and product performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation within the development lifecycle.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying gaps and proposing innovative solutions in testing practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert, collaborating with and managing the team to perform effectively and take responsibility for team decisions.
• Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key decisions, providing solutions to problems for the immediate team and across teams.
• Own defect management end-to-end — triage, prioritize, track root cause, and drive resolution with development and product teams.
• Champion quality advocacy with stakeholders, communicating test strategy, risk, and status clearly across levels.
• Mentor and guide team members to build expertise in automation tools and quality engineering methodologies (optional).
REQUIRED SKILLS & PROFICIENCIES
• Test Strategy and Planning — design and own test strategies and plans across the product lifecycle.
• Defect Management and Root Cause Analysis — advanced proficiency in identifying, tracking, and resolving defects at their source.
• Stakeholder Communication and Quality Advocacy — clearly communicate quality risks, status, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Technical Test Execution — intermediate proficiency executing functional, regression, and technical test cases.
• Test Automation — good to have; hands-on experience building or maintaining automated test suites.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Proven experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar quality engineering role.
• Advanced proficiency in System Defect Management; intermediate proficiency in Technical Test Execution.
• Experience working across the software development lifecycle in an agile environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate test results into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams and influence quality decisions.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks is a plus.
