About the Role

The implementation of Modern Enterprise Resource Planning (MERP) is a critical step in the organisation’s transformation journey, moving from outdated technology (ECC6) to a new, digitally enabled lean core platform, SAP S/4HANA, and its wider application ecosystem.

As this is a business-led, group-wide transformation effort, it requires a strong team to bridge the business and technology landscapes. From contract to cash, every aspect of operations will benefit from this modernisation, delivering a digital foundation that supports ongoing transformation. The organisation is looking to deploy a modern ERP as its core platform, supported by best-of-breed and best-of-suite technologies across processes.

This role will be responsible for the successful delivery of work items supporting Move & Sell Commercial Reports and Analytics applications across enterprise platforms and solutions. Key subject areas include deal and contract management, order administration, transportation management, including deliveries and shipments, invoicing, billing and receivables, underpinned by pricing, credit management, customer, product and logistics master data.

The role is accountable for shaping and delivering the future-state reporting landscape for the Move & Sell workstream within the Modern ERP programme. It provides subject matter expertise across reporting and analytics, ensuring reporting solutions are aligned with standardised processes, data governance principles and clean-core objectives.

This role works closely with business stakeholders, GPOs, stewards and custodians, Project Business Improvement Leads, delivery managers, system integrators, MERP technical teams and the Commercial Digital Data Management team to prioritise reporting demands, manage remediation and new-build initiatives, and reduce duplication and bespoke reporting.

The scope includes native and custom SAP reports, Enterprise Governed Reporting applications, BW/4HANA, selected governed reporting datasets in Power BI, and other governed reporting tools and platforms.

Reporting to the Modern ERP Move & Sell GPO Workstream Lead, and acting as the design and decision authority for Move & Sell reporting within agreed governance guardrails, you will be responsible for the following:

Reporting Ownership and Governance

• Own and prioritise the Move & Sell reporting backlog, covering remediation and new reporting requirements
• Apply disciplined governance, quality assurance and design controls across reporting deliverables in Modern ERP
• Define reporting scope across delivery teams, and conduct inventory and impact assessments across SAP, EGRP, BW/4HANA and selected Power BI landscapes
• Support the industrialisation of digital data reporting and end-user citizen development through governed reporting frameworks
• Champion simplification and standardisation across reporting solutions

Delivery and Integration

• Partner with delivery managers, architects and technical teams to translate business reporting needs into scalable, governed solutions
• Oversee and QA reporting remediation activities, including:

  • BW/4HANA modelled and data remediation

  • SAP data load and reconciliation support

  • Selected Power BI dataset and report remediation

  • Retrofit of critical reports into the Modern ERP landscape
    • Ensure end-to-end traceability from business requirements through to SIT, UAT and cutover readiness

Reporting and Transaction Data

• Work with the GPO Data Lead, Process/Data Stewards and Custodian teams to ensure MERP data simplification objectives are successfully executed during the SAP S/4HANA upgrade
• Ensure MERP real-time reporting capability is adopted and minimise custom development and workarounds to meet user needs

Change Management and Training

• Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new and revised SAP S/4HANA data products
• Support training and change activities to increase adoption of standard reporting and self-service analytics

Project Oversight and Quality Assurance

• Work closely with the PMO, Workstream Lead, Process Leads and Data Leads to ensure SAP S/4HANA implementation requirements are delivered on time
• Review and endorse project documentation to support the development of MERP functional design specifications
• Ensure data design follows best practices and clean-core principles, minimising customisations while ensuring system flexibility for future enhancements
• Monitor key project metrics and KPIs, ensuring process performance aligns with targets

Risk Management

• Identify and actively support the PMO and Workstream Lead in managing risks and issues related to process design, providing mitigation strategies where required
• Actively support the PMO and Workstream Lead in developing mitigation strategies for risks associated with process redesign, data migration and system integration

Continuous Improvement

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and optimising data products
• Contribute to the evolution of enterprise reporting platforms and communities of practice
• Ensure future system upgrades or enhancements align with the company’s evolving needs

What You Will Need for the Role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• A university degree in either a technical or commercial discipline
• Preferably 8 to 14+ years of relevant experience with a reporting, data or analytics background
• Knowledge of business metrics and KPIs used in process environments
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and propose effective solutions

Business Data Experience

• Experience using SAP as the primary data source for the design of reporting or dashboard solutions consumed by a variety of stakeholder groups, from operational teams to senior management
• Strong knowledge of commercial data sourced from SAP contract-to-cash process execution, including sales and distribution, logistics and supply chain, as well as relevant SAP S/4HANA tables or CDS
• Prior experience working on projects that drive reporting standardisation, simplification or SAP reporting system implementation
• Experience working across business, data and technology teams to simplify, standardise and industrialise reporting solutions across SAP and non-SAP platforms
• Knowledge of commercial strategic value pillars, value trees and associated underlying SAP data that supports key metrics
• Experience with Strategic Enterprise Management would be beneficial

Leadership

• Proven track record in leading teams, including internal and external team members, and fostering a strong team culture within a networked operating model
• Experience working in a global and cross-time-zone context is preferred
• Experience working in a project environment, with demonstrated ability to drive successful outcomes

SAP Expertise and Implementation Experience

• Strong knowledge of ERP systems and their reporting capabilities is preferred, specifically SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, CDS, BDC and Datasphere
• Experience as a key appointment holder in large implementation projects using methodologies such as Waterfall or Agile
• Experience using reporting tools such as SAC and Power BI with SAP
• Experience implementing BW/4HANA or data lake-type solutions is preferred
• Knowledge of AI applications, especially in the context of SAC or other reporting platforms, is preferred

Relationship and Communication

• Ability to build strong relationships with users and senior stakeholders
• Experience influencing decisions and leading key stakeholder communications, as well as internal and external engagements, would be beneficial
