Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Cloud Support Engineer (L3) to join a large-scale enterprise cloud transformation program involving the migration of 300+ business-critical applications from an on-premises environment to Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Azure Infrastructure, IIS, Azure Application Gateway, AKS, Istio Service Mesh, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, enterprise networking, and security. The role requires hands-on experience in designing, executing, and supporting complex cloud migrations while ensuring minimal downtime, high availability, and operational excellence throughout the migration lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Cloud Migration

• Lead the migration of 300+ enterprise applications from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.
• Assess application architecture, infrastructure dependencies, and migration readiness.
• Execute Lift & Shift (Rehost), Replatform, and Cloud Modernization initiatives.
• Plan and execute production cutovers, rollback strategies, and post-migration validation.
• Support migration of both Internet-facing and Intranet business applications.
• Participate in migration planning, risk assessments, and technical workshops.

Azure Infrastructure Administration

• Deploy, configure, and support Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
• Design and manage Azure Landing Zones.
• Administer:Azure Virtual MachinesVirtual Networks (VNet)Network Security Groups (NSG)Route TablesAzure FirewallAzure Application Gateway (WAF)Azure Load BalancerVPN GatewayExpressRouteAzure StorageAzure Backup
• Monitor infrastructure health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

Application & Web Infrastructure

• Administer and migrate applications hosted on Microsoft IIS.
• Configure and support Azure Application Gateway for application routing and load balancing.
• Troubleshoot application connectivity, SSL/TLS certificates, DNS, and reverse proxy configurations.
• Support both Internet-facing and internal enterprise applications.

Kubernetes & Container Platform

• Support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Deploy and manage applications using Kubernetes.
• Configure and troubleshoot Istio Service Mesh.
• Manage Ingress Controllers and container networking.
• Deploy workloads using Helm Charts.
• Support container monitoring and operational health.

Database Migration & Administration

• Plan, migrate, and support:Microsoft SQL Server (MS-SQL)MySQL
• Perform database migration, backup, restore, replication, and performance tuning.
• Support Azure SQL migration activities and production cutovers.

Networking & Security

• Ensure secure hybrid connectivity between on-premises and Azure environments.

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement permanent solutions.
• Participate in change management, release management, and maintenance activities.
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

Automation & DevOps

• Automate infrastructure deployment using:PowerShellAzure CLITerraformBicep

Required Experience

• 8–12 years of IT Infrastructure and Cloud Support experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience migrating large enterprise environments (300+ applications).
• Strong experience with Azure Application Gateway and enterprise networking.
• Hands-on experience supporting IIS-based enterprise applications.
• Experience with AKS and Istio Service Mesh.
• Strong administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments connecting on-premises infrastructure with Azure.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mission-critical production environments.
• Experience working within ITIL-based support and change management processes.
