Senior Java Developer - Part-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and services. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, supporting system integrations, driving technical improvements, and contributing to the full software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development expertise, experience with modern cloud technologies, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and services.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in solution design, technical implementation, and system enhancements.
• Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services.
• Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to development best practices.
• Support CI/CD processes, automated testing, and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance and reliability improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and system specifications.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Work closely with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to deliver project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience developing scalable, enterprise-grade applications and APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization technologies, and modern application architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and automated testing practices.
• Knowledge of relational databases, messaging systems, and distributed applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across business and technology teams.
• Financial services experience is advantageous but not required.

This is an initial 12-months contract with permanent visibility.
