Job Description - SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (Contract) - Part-Time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex software and systems implementation projects from planning through delivery. This role is suited for a strong delivery leader who can translate business goals into structured technical execution plans, manage regional stakeholders, and drive successful project outcomes across internal teams and external delivery partners.

You will play a key role in shaping project scope, governance, implementation standards, business readiness, and operational adoption. The role includes collaboration with Mandarin-speaking business and delivery stakeholders in China, and therefore requires the ability to conduct business discussions, project coordination, and documentation review in both English and Mandarin for work-related purposes.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex IT and software project initiatives, from discovery and planning to implementation, go-live, and post-deployment stabilization.

• Translate business objectives into clear functional requirements, technical specifications, project plans, and delivery milestones.

• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and delivery expectations across internal stakeholders and external vendors.

• Drive project governance, status reporting, steering updates, and presentations to senior management and relevant governance panels.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams including business users, technology teams, data teams, vendors, and outsourced delivery partners.

• Support solution planning for systems involving AI/data platforms, enterprise applications, and integrated technology environments.

• Lead deployment planning, data transition activities, user readiness, change coordination, and adoption initiatives to ensure successful implementation.

• Design and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operating controls for newly introduced systems and workflows.

• Ensure accurate, complete, and up-to-date system, project, and process documentation is maintained.

• Monitor compliance with organizational standards and policies, including data protection, information security, AI governance, and IT controls.

• Conduct periodic reviews to ensure project and system practices remain aligned with internal policies and regulatory expectations.

• Work closely with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, vendors, and project teams in China, including business travel where required for project execution and stakeholder management.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.

• At least 6 years of experience managing software, systems implementation, or digital transformation projects in enterprise environments.

• Strong experience overseeing projects involving business applications, data platforms, or software development teams.

• Working knowledge of SQL, system integration concepts, software delivery lifecycles, and application development environments.

• Good understanding of delivery environments using technologies such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, or C++, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and vendors.

• Practical knowledge of DevOps practices, release processes, and application architecture principles.

• Strong stakeholder management, vendor management, communication, and presentation skills.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organisational capabilities.

• High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities effectively.

• A self-driven and dependable approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

• Exposure to market research, data analytics, or data-driven business solutions will be an advantage.

• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data privacy regulations will be an advantage.

• Business proficiency in Mandarin and English to support work-related communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, vendors, and project teams in China, including meetings, project coordination, and review of business or operational documentation.

• Willingness and ability to travel to China for project-related work.

What We Offer

• Opportunity to lead high-impact regional technology and transformation projects.

• Exposure to senior stakeholders, outsourced delivery ecosystems, and cross-border implementation work.

• A role with strong ownership, visibility, and influence on business process improvement and organizational capability building.

Travel: Role requires regular business travel to China for outsourced project planning, implementation, stakeholder workshops, and deployment activities.
