- Responsible for keeping an organization’s database environmentssecure, stable, high-performing, and available for business-criticalapplications.

- Able to lead the design, administration, optimization, and support ofenterprise database platforms while working closely with infrastructure,applications, security, and business teams.

- Manage, maintain, and support enterprise database systems inproduction, test, and development environments

- Administer database platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server,MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relevant technologies

- Monitor database health, performance, storage, availability, andcapacity

- Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, andmigration activities

- Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, outages, and performanceissues

- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures toprotect business data

- Optimise SQL queries, indexing, and overall database performance

- Ensure database security, access control, encryption, and compliancewith internal policies and regulatory requirements

- Support high availability solutions such as clustering, replication,failover, and standby environments

- Work with application and infrastructure teams to support systemintegration, deployments, and release activities

- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures,and runbooks

- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior DBadministrators and project teams

- Participate in on-call support, incident response, and problemmanagement as required
