Software Engineer (Java / Python)

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join theDerivative Trade Processing team on a contract basis. You will support andenhance a global trade processing platform, focusing on platform stability,production support, incident investigation, and engineering improvements.

Working closely with engineers, operations, and businessusers, you will help improve system reliability, resolve production issues, andsupport the delivery of new business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Investigate production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Implement long-term fixes to improve platform stability and performance.
• Support and maintain backend applications within the derivatives processing platform.
• Collaborate with business users and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in incident management and production support activities.
• Support the onboarding, testing, and rollout of new products and enhancements.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in platform reliability and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of backend software development experience.
• Strong programming experience in Java or Python.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience debugging production issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of ownership.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
