Software Test Engineer - Part-Time

Looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of enterprise applications through functional and automation testing. This role involves designing comprehensive test strategies, executing test cases, managing defects, and contributing to the development of scalable test automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute functional, system and regression testing to validate application quality.
• Develop comprehensive test cases based on business and technical requirements while maintaining end-to-end traceability.
• Collaborate with project teams and business stakeholders to define test scope, objectives and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare test data, manage test environments and document test evidence.
• Identify, log, track and verify defects, working closely with development teams to resolve issues.
• Produce test documentation, including test plans, test cases, execution reports and test summary reports.
• Build and maintain reusable regression test suites to support future automation initiatives.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Tosca, Selenium, Playwright or similar frameworks.
• Support the enhancement of automation frameworks and contribute to continuous testing practices.
• Monitor and report testing progress, automation coverage and quality metrics.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing with strong expertise in functional testing and exposure to test automation.
• Experience designing test cases from business and system requirements.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, defect management and test documentation.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise automation testing tools or automation frameworks.
• Working knowledge of SQL for test data preparation and validation.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Java, Python, JavaScript or C#.
• Experience with API testing and validation.
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional testing certifications such as ISTQB, ISTQB Test Automation Engineer, or Tricentis Tosca certifications.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of performance testing concepts and tools.
• Experience with Git and Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience working on enterprise or highly regulated technology projects is an advantage.
