System Specialist (Wintel/Storage) - Part-Time

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented System Specialist (Wintel/Storage) to join our IT Infrastructure team . The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's Windows Server and Wintel infrastructure while ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of enterprise storage systems. You will play a key role in supporting business-critical IT operations by designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure solutions that meet operational and business requirements.

In this role, you will administer and maintain Windows Server environments and Wintel infrastructure, manage enterprise storage platforms including SAN and NAS technologies, and ensure efficient data storage, accessibility, and performance. You will proactively monitor system health, analyse infrastructure performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement timely resolutions to minimise service disruption. You will also manage system upgrades, software patches, firmware updates, and infrastructure enhancements while maintaining high system availability.

You will be responsible for implementing and supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity. Working closely with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams, you will support capacity planning, infrastructure expansion, and technology refresh initiatives. The role also involves documenting system configurations, operational procedures, and technical changes, providing technical support to internal stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with organisational security standards, governance policies, and industry best practices. Experience with virtualization technologies, enterprise monitoring tools, cloud storage integration, and hybrid infrastructure environments will be advantageous.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in Windows Server administration and Wintel infrastructure management within an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, storage arrays, and storage management.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms and hypervisor technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Experience implementing and supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure, data center operations, system architecture, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication, documentation, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with cloud storage integration and hybrid infrastructure solutions will be an advantage.
• Relevant professional certifications, such as Microsoft Certified credentials or storage vendor certifications, will be preferred.
