Overview

We are seeking a Tableau Developer to join our client's regional BI and Analytics team within the banking industry. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade Tableau dashboards and analytics solutions that empower business stakeholders with actionable insights and data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate is experienced in Tableau development, SQL, and BI support, with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate business requirements into impactful visual analytics solutions. This is a highly visible role supporting users across Asia in a fast-paced Agile environment.

This is a 1-year renewable contract with strong potential for extension based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Tableau Development & Dashboard Delivery

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations aligned with business requirements
• Build intuitive, interactive, and high-performing dashboards for business users and management reporting
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable BI solutions
• Ensure dashboards adhere to data visualization best practices, governance standards, and performance optimization techniques
• Develop reusable Tableau assets, templates, and standardized reporting frameworks

Tableau Platform Administration & Support

• Support day-to-day Tableau platform operations, including user access management, publishing workflows, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Manage Tableau Server/Site administration activities and ensure platform stability and performance
• Investigate and resolve BI-related technical issues raised by end users
• Collaborate with infrastructure, data engineering, and application teams to support production environments

Data Management & SQL Development

• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from various data sources
• Work with structured and semi-structured datasets across enterprise data platforms
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across dashboards and reporting solutions
• Support data modeling activities and contribute to improving reporting efficiency

User Enablement & Training

• Conduct Tableau user training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
• Create self-service guides, user documentation, and best practice materials for business users
• Promote BI adoption and cultivate a data-driven culture across the organization
• Provide consultation and guidance to users with varying levels of Tableau proficiency

Agile Delivery & Collaboration

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with regional business teams, project managers, data engineers, and developers to deliver analytics initiatives
• Ensure timely delivery of enhancements, bug fixes, and reporting requests

Requirements

Professional & Technical Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or related discipline
• Proven experience in Tableau development within enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with:Tableau DesktopTableau PrepTableau Server / Site AdministrationSQL querying and data analysis
• Solid understanding of:Data visualization principlesDashboard design best practicesData modeling conceptsReporting performance optimization
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical and analytical solutions

Preferred / Advantageous Skills

• Tableau Desktop Certification is highly preferred
• Tableau Public portfolio/profile is an advantage
• Experience with Tableau APIs is a plus
• Exposure to scripting/programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell is advantageous
• Experience with Power BI is a plus
• Prior experience in banking or financial services environments is advantageous
