Technical Adoption Manager (TAM) – VMware Cloud Foundation - Part-Time

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Adoption Manager (TAM) specializing in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) technologies to provide strategic technical guidance, adoption planning, and operational support. The TAM will serve as the primary technical liaison between the customer and VMware, ensuring successful adoption of VMware solutions while maximizing platform value and operational excellence.

This engagement requires approximately one slice per day per week and includes a combination of onsite, remote, email, and phone-based support.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Technical Adoption Manager (TAM) for the VMware environment.
• Act as the primary technical advisor for VMware technologies and best practices.
• Develop and execute VMware technology adoption and optimization plans.
• Coordinate directly with VMware Technical Support and Product Teams for issue resolution and escalations.
• Conduct regular technical reviews and health checks of the VMware infrastructure.
• Provide recommendations for platform optimization, lifecycle management, upgrades, and security improvements.
• Review system architecture and provide guidance aligned with VMware best practices.
• Assist with capacity planning, performance tuning, and operational readiness.
• Support incident reviews and root cause analysis for critical infrastructure issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, recommendations, and adoption reports.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions with customer technical teams.
• Participate in technical governance meetings and quarterly service reviews.

VMware Engagement Responsibilities

The contractor shall:

• Coordinate and engage directly with VMware for technical support and product-related matters.
• Manage VMware support requests, escalations, and technical communications.
• Facilitate discussions with VMware Technical Account Teams when required.
• Conduct engagements through:Onsite meetings (based on mutual agreement)Email supportPhone supportVirtual meetings
• Schedule onsite engagements in coordination with the customer's designated Point of Contact.
• Ensure timely follow-up and communication on VMware service requests and technical recommendations.

Required Experience

• Minimum 8+ years of VMware Infrastructure administration and architecture experience.
• Minimum 3+ years working as a Technical Account Manager, Technical Adoption Manager, or Infrastructure Consultant.
• Hands-on experience implementing and managing VMware Cloud Foundation environments.
• Experience working with enterprise-scale virtualization platforms.
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architecture and disaster recovery.
• Experience engaging directly with VMware Support and Engineering teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
