Test Analyst - Part-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a Test Analyst to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and managing software testing activities across application maintenance, enhancements, and project implementations. This role works closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and developers to deliver high-quality software solutions throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Management

• Review business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents.
• Prepare test plans, test strategies, test schedules, and effort estimates.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, System Analysts, and Developers to define test scope and timelines.
• Ensure testing activities align with established SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Test Design & Execution

• Design, develop, and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and test data.
• Execute System Integration Testing (SIT), Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate both online and batch processing functionalities.
• Perform defect verification, re-testing, and regression testing after fixes.

Defect & Quality Management

• Log, monitor, and track defects using defect management tools.
• Work closely with development teams to resolve defects within agreed timelines.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring or critical issues.
• Ensure software quality standards are met before production deployment.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive test documentation.
• Prepare test progress reports, defect reports, and test summary reports.
• Identify testing risks and issues, and recommend mitigation plans.
• Ensure testing deliverables are complete and auditable.

Requirements

Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in Functional Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Experience validating both online and batch processing systems.
• Familiarity with defect management and test management tools.
• Knowledge of Agile or Waterfall project delivery methodologies.

Technical Knowledge

Experience with one or more of the following technologies is preferred:

• .NET / C# / VB.NET
• Microsoft SQL Server

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of software testing experience.
• Experience supporting medium to large-scale enterprise application projects.
• Experience working with both online and batch processing systems.
• Experience in the public sector or a regulated industry will be an added advantage.
