Claims Executive

We are seeking a qualified lawyer to join our Claims Team.  This role would suit someone who is curious, proactive and eager to develop their career in a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with an experienced team, gaining exposure to a broad range of claims while continuing to build and deepen your existing marine claims expertise. This is a role for someone with strong Shipping/Marine Claims experience, looking to take the next step in their career and grow within a well-established and respected P&I Club.

​​Overall responsibility of the role: To provide sensitive, responsive, imaginative and cost-effective claims handling and general support to members and brokers with claims issues.

​Role responsibilities:

• To manage proper handling of own claim files, including file husbandry in accordance with current claims procedures manual.
• To maintain accurate estimates on each file.
• To prepare reports including agenda notes, notification to reinsurers, Club circulars etc. 
• To report in writing notification of large claims to Directors, department Managers and the relevant Underwriter. 
• To report to, and assist Loss Prevention department, the Claims Director -Singapore and the relevant Underwriter where a claims trend or problem vessel is detected.
• To share knowledge, information and experience across the Claims team and department as a whole.
• To work with Underwriters to identify, attract, develop and retain business for the mutual benefit of the Club.
• To assist the Claims Director - Singapore with or take the lead with ad-hoc Club projects.

​Experience required:

• Experienced in marine claims handling from at least one of the following; P&I Club, Shipping Owner / Manager, law firm/private practice or another marine insurer.
• Qualified lawyer
• Strong communicator with a proactive and analytical approach.
• Language skills desirable.
