We are a purpose-driven bakery specialising in inclusive bakes for people with dietary needs, including egg-free, dairy-free, no refined sugar, diabetic-conscious, allergy-friendly, vegan, baby-friendly, gluten-free, and Halal-certified options.
Our customers often come to us because they or their loved ones have been told they “cannot” enjoy regular cakes or desserts. Our role is to help them feel safe, included, and confident again.
We are looking for a responsible and service-oriented Retail Executive / Retail Assistant to manage daily shop operations, prepare customer orders, maintain food hygiene standards, and serve walk-in and phone customers with care.
This is a hands-on role suitable for someone who enjoys working in a bakery retail environment and takes pride in cleanliness, order accuracy, and customer experience.
Prepare the retail shop for daily operations before opening
Set up cake display, product shelves, counters, signage, and packaging materials
Ensure products are displayed neatly, attractively, and according to store standards
Check product availability, expiry dates, labels, and presentation
Maintain cleanliness of the retail area, chiller, display shelves, counters, and customer-facing spaces
Assist with closing duties, stock checks, cleaning, and end-of-day settlement where required
Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times
Ensure cakes and desserts are handled safely and hygienically
Maintain clean workstations, tools, packaging area, and retail area
Follow allergen-awareness and cross-contact prevention practices
Ensure products are labelled and packed correctly according to customer dietary needs
Report any food safety, quality, or product concerns immediately to the manager or kitchen team
Assist with simple cake finishing and garnishing for collection and delivery orders
Prepare cakes, cupcakes, sliced cakes, cookies, and desserts according to order requirements
Check order details carefully, including flavour, size, dietary requirement, message card, candles, cutlery, and delivery/collection timing
Pack orders neatly and securely for self-collection, delivery, or third-party pickup
Take product photos when required for order verification before handover
Coordinate with kitchen and delivery teams to ensure orders are ready on time
Welcome customers warmly and assist them with product recommendations
Explain product options clearly, especially for customers with dietary concerns such as diabetes, allergies, vegan needs, gluten-free needs, baby-friendly options, or Halal requirements
Help customers choose suitable cakes, slices, cookies, or gift items based on their needs
Handle cashiering, payments, receipts, and basic order entry accurately
Recommend suitable add-ons such as candles, toppers, cookies, sliced cakes, or gift packaging where appropriate
Maintain a calm and reassuring tone when serving customers with health or dietary concerns
Answer phone enquiries politely and professionally
Provide basic product, pricing, collection, delivery, and order information
Direct complex dietary or custom order enquiries to the appropriate team member when needed
Take clear messages and ensure follow-up is done properly
Support customers with urgent or same-day order enquiries where applicable
Monitor retail stock levels and inform the manager when items are running low
Assist with receiving, arranging, and replenishing retail products
Support festive, seasonal, and promotional product setups
Ensure packaging materials, candles, cutlery, bags, and retail supplies are well-stocked
Help maintain an organised and efficient retail workspace
Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently
Friendly and confident in speaking to customers
Careful with details, especially order accuracy and dietary requirements
Comfortable working in a hands-on bakery retail environment
Able to follow hygiene, food safety, and store procedures
Willing to learn about healthier, allergy-friendly, diabetic-conscious, vegan, and Halal bakery products
Able to stand for retail shifts and assist with packing, display, and shop setup
Prior retail, F&B, bakery, cashiering, or customer service experience is preferred but not compulsory
Basic English communication is required
Basic Mandarin or other languages are a plus
Enjoys serving customers with patience and care
Takes pride in cleanliness and presentation
Is organised and careful with order details
Wants meaningful work beyond ordinary retail
