Novatec Braid, a privately owned rope manufacturing company, is currently recruiting an Order Stager. The primarily responsibility of the Order Stager is to organize, pick, and stage product orders for shipping while adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures. The challenge of this position is repetitive physical tasks over long periods of time. This position works Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm, under the supervision of the Shipping Manager. Overtime does not regularly occur but when required it is a condition of continued employment.
Major areas of responsibilities include:
- Assist in delivering components to packaging lines when required
- Check with the Production department for current orders and make sure the next orders are available as scheduled
- Operate a handheld computer to fulfill and track orders
- Pick, organize, and package orders for delivery
- Wrap, secure, and strap pallets for shipping
- Assist in machine spooling, when needed
- Operate the forklift and pallet jack** and only if the candidate has a current lifting device training ticket
The successful candidate will possess the following core competencies: strong attention to detail skills; strong troubleshooting and independent thinking skills; strong active listening and communication skills; and, self-motivated.
The incumbent is required to possess the ability to lift up to 50lb unassisted as well as reach, kneel, climb stairs, stoop, crouch, push, pull, and complete repetitive movements. The incumbent is required to stand for up to 2.5 hours at a time, use visual concentration, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The incumbent will have basic math and English reading skills. The incumbent must have a current NS Class 5 drivers’ license, be insurable, and be able to operate a 3-ton truck (no air brakes).
