Home Care Health Care Aides provide service to Home Care clients in lodges in Grande Prairie & Clairmont & clients homes, throughout our region. You must be comfortable driving in any weather/road conditions. Experience in seniors’ health is an asset. You must be a certified Health Care Aide. Candidate must be registered with the Alberta Health Care Aide directory. Candidate must be willing to change assignment as needed to service facility and community clients. You must be flexible and willing to visit clients both in clients’ homes and lodge setting. You must be able to work with limited supervision. You will be working under the supervision of a Personal Support Coordinator (PSC) and under the management of a Team Lead. You will work independently in the community as well as within a team at lodges. If working at a lodge on nights, you will be the sole HCA at the site. We are looking for a candidate who has a positive approach both with clients and peers. You must be willing to work Days/evenings/nights/weekends/stats and both short and long shifts. You must have available; for work purposes, at all times a reliable vehicle with business insurance. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.
Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA) - Nursing Attendant, you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Additional Required Qualifications:Current CPR, reliable vehicle for work purposes and acceptable drivers abstract. At least 1 years’ experience dealing with all entire age spectrum including seniors. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Preferred Qualifications:Supportive Pathways/P.I.E.C.E.S course. Palliative Care course/experience. NVCI course. It’s Your Move course. Medication Assistance Program (MAP). Foot care course/experience.
